About Menorca, Spain
Traditionally more relaxed than its neighbors, Mallorca (Majorca) and Ibiza, it’s known for its endless beaches, from miles-long sandy crescents to rocky, turquoise-watered bays called “calas.” Pine trees fringe and decorate the coast. The lively and intimate capital, Mahon, is on a bluff overlooking a large harbor, with Georgian mansions and a church with 13th-century roots.
Menorca, the low-key and charming Balearic Island, has shied away from tourism – leaving pristine Spanish beaches, low-rise boutique hotels, two sun-bleached cities and a rural inland of whitewashed, hilltop villages.
As the northernmost Balearic island, Menorca encourages its visitors to slow down, relax and unwind. With 216 kilometres of coastline, from the soft white sand beaches of the south to the rugged red coast of the north, the island is a fortress of calm.
The whole island has been recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1993, thanks to the abundance of native flora and fauna, the posidonia meadows in its clear waters and the birds of prey and flamingos that live on the shores.
About Mahon
Mahon is the charming capital of the Balearic Island of Menorca, it is the first stop for many visitors to the island before they head off to Menorca's enticing beach resorts.
The city offers you a chance to explore a modern meets historic destination with quaint alleyways, shady streets, old monasteries, churches, colourful markets, tasty cake shops and a stunning harbour.
The city is known for its Georgian-style mansions, a testament to the British occupation from times gone by and an attractive harbour area and restaurant-lined promenade.
Travel and tourism in Menorca are synonymous with quality beaches, clean seas, quaint hotels, and charming holiday resorts.
Mahon has one of the largest natural harbours in the world and is a lovely place to spend a day and evening dining in one of the many good-quality eateries that are located around the port area.
A popular stopover in the harbour area is the Xoriguer Gin distillery, where you can help yourself to free samples of gin, various liqueurs and other spirits before buying.
The city organises some amazing festivals and fiestas, which see the whole town come to life, with street acts, dancing and music, and where delicious foods are shared

Stay in one of the new rooms, such as the premium with sea views room, for an unbeatable holiday. Delight your palate with culinary specialities from the island at the new Mirador des Port restaurant or have a drink at the Gastrobar, with a terrace and direct access to the lookout over the harbour.
Sunbathe and cool off in the garden pool, where our summer food truck has what you want most: cocktails and ice cold drinks. Chill in the new wellness space we have created for you, with a waters area, sauna and loads more. If you want to organize a family or business event, we offer you our two partitionable meeting rooms. Choose the best views for your stay on Menorca at the Catalonia Mirador des Port.
The renovated hotel reception will welcome you upon arrival, as will the new Mirador des Port restaurant, from which you will enjoy the best views of the port. Its design in light wood and blue tones reflects the marine essence of the island and connects with its gastronomic offer. Market cuisine focused on typical Menorcan dishes updated with a modern touch. Taste the lobster with eggs and potatoes, the seafood rice and the native vermella cow, among others. Ideal for eating watching life in the port of Mahón during the day or dining under the moonlight, both in the dining room and on the outdoor terrace. Without forgetting the buffet breakfast, which is offered every morning by the Mirador des Port restaurant with a wide variety of options and show cooking. On the other hand, our bar has direct access to the viewpoint over the sea and is a good option for a drink or snack after relaxing on the beach.
From the Catalonia Mirador des Port hotel you will reach the old town and the commercial area of Mahón in just 10 minutes on foot. It is perfect for both families and couples thanks to its bright rooms with full bathroom, air conditioning and smart TV. Choose one of our rooms with a terrace and sea views to make your stay in Menorca unforgettable. If you travel with your family, you can enjoy the pool, with an area adapted for children and surrounded by a beautiful garden with hammocks where you can sunbathe while connecting to the hotel's free Wi-Fi. In the summer season you can have a soft drink, a cocktail or a snack in our food truck without leaving the pool. On the other hand, you cannot miss the new wellness space, where you will relax like never before in the water area with hydromassage and jets, the dry sauna, the Turkish bath or the sensations shower. In addition, the spa has massage cabins with beauty and body wellness treatments and its own small solarium.
If you want to keep fit during your stay, our gym awaits you with state-of-the-art machines. We have 2 panelable event rooms, Nura A and Nura B, with a maximum capacity for almost 150 people when combined in a single space. Both are equipped with the latest audiovisual technology so that you can organize everything from conventions to business meetings or family celebrations. Our events team will help you prepare everything, including catering service on request. The spectacular beaches and coves of Menorca will leave you speechless, they have nothing to envy to those of the Caribbean! In the north is Cala Pregonda, very attractive for snorkelling, or Cala Morell, with its rocky landscape. Cala Macarella and its neighbor Macarelleta, in the south, are some of the most popular, just like Cala en Turqueta, with its fine sand and turquoise waters.
But Menorca is not only its beaches, there are also essential places to visit, such as the fortified city of Ciutadella or Binibeca, a small fishing village with white houses. If you like hiking, walk a section of the Camí de Cavalls and don't leave without visiting one of the lighthouses, such as the one in Favàritx. To get to know the entire island in depth, we offer you a car rental service that will allow you to get around more quickly and comfortably. Come and enjoy Menorca at the Catalonia Mirador Des Port hotel!
